A new member orientation was held last week, and many of the new members have already contributed to new programming ideas or past Sandbox events. We are very excited to have everyone on board.

Your next opportunity to welcome new members in person will be at the SUMMER MEMBERSHIP ASSEMBLY & ANNUAL BBQ, which will be held July 19 beginning at 4:30pm, at Leslie Law’s house. Details to follow. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Thanks to all who participated in the nomination process for the next generation of Sandbox Members! At this time, the Membership Committee is seeking feedback from all current members regarding the candidates. For more information, and to see the list of nominees, click on the “MembersEyesOnly” section of our site, and log in. (Once you’ve entered the password, look for the “2010 New Membership Nominations” link in the brown sidebar on the right .)

The period of feedback will end April 9, and all approved nominees will be announced prior to the Spring General Assembly (April 19). New Members will be voted in at the next General Assembly–hope to see you there!

To access the New Member Nomination Form log in to the site. (Log in access is at the bottom of any Sandbox web page.) You will find the form under the “MemberEyesOnly” pages. Copy and paste the form with your responses, and email them to tracy@thesandboxartistscollective.com no later than March 15. The Sandbox is primed for its next generation of artists, and your nominations are  vital to the growth of our collective.

At the end of the nomination period, the Membership Committee will review, and announce the nominees so that all members have an opportunity to provide feedback before the next general assembly. All approved nominees must be voted in unanimously by a live vote, which will take place at the Spring Quarterly General Assembly, April 19 @ 7:30 pm.

By unanimous live vote at the Winter General Assembly, the following members of The Sandbox were elected to the Leadership Committee for a full year term:

Member Committee Representative-

The last position, Membership Committee Rep, is still open, waiting to be filled by an eager Sandbox member. The responsibility of this position includes attending Membership Committee Meetings, reporting to the Leadership Committee, and overseeing the New Member nominations and elections, which are currently in process for 2010. The Membership Committee announced at the Winter General Assembly (February 15) that New Member Nominations for The Sandbox are now being accepted. The Nomination period will be open until MARCH 15. At this time, members may nominate up to two artists in the community for new membership. After March 15, a period of membership feedback and committee review will follow. The final list of New Member Nominees will be voted on at the Spring General Assembly on April 19. New Members must be elected by a unanimous live vote before they are invited to participate in The Sandbox.
